Available Positions:
- Maintenance Worker I
Entry-level position responsible for a variety of low-skilled and unskilled strenuous labor assisting in the cleaning, maintenance and repair of streets, storm drains, sewer lines, maintenance of airport, parks, and other public grounds and facilities, construction and maintenance of water or wastewater mains, and maintenance of public facilities. - Maintenance Worker II
Mid-level role performing variety of low-to-semiskilled labor assisting in the cleaning, maintenance and repair of streets, storm drains, sewer lines, maintenance of airport, parks, and other public grounds and facilities, construction and maintenance of water or wastewater mains, and maintenance of public facilities, lakes, and dams. (Requires current driver license and must obtain CDL.)
- Maintenance Worker III
Advanced-level position performing a variety of skilled labor assisting in the cleaning, maintenance and repair of streets, storm drains, sewer lines, maintenance of airport, parks and other public grounds and facilities, construction and maintenance of water or wastewater mains, and maintenance of public facilities, lakes, and dam. (Current B CDL or higher; some positions require a TCEQ Water License.)
- Crew Leader
Serves as a lead for a crew of workers and provides training for crews in construction, sanitation, facilities, parks and recreational centers, water management departments, aviation, and other City of Dallas infrastructure, supporting large or complex projects, coordinating assignments, reports, equipment, and inventory. (Current A or B CDL - depending on location; some positions require a TCEQ Water License.)
- Industrial Mechanic
Provides senior level mechanical experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of various industrial equipment. - Equipment Operator I
Operates light equipment with variety controls used in the construction and maintenance of City of Dallas (Backhoe, Wheel/Track Loader, Skid Steer, Mini Excavator, Dump Truck, Dozer) (Current A or B CDL - depending on location)
- Equipment Operator II
Operates light to moderately complex construction equipment with fairly complex controls used in the construction and maintenance of the City of Dallas’ facilities and utilities. Operates, maneuvers, navigates, or drives vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as Loaders, Excavators, Dozers, Vac Truck, Combo Vac Truck, etc. (Current A or B CDL - depending on location)
Key Responsibilities (vary by position)
- Perform maintenance, repair, and construction tasks in the field or facility environment
- Operate tools, vehicles, and equipment safely and effectively
- Assist with infrastructure upkeep, including streets, utilities, grounds, and facilities
- Follow safety regulations and standard operating procedures
- Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records and reports of daily activities
- Lead or assist crews (for advanced positions)
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications vary by position and may include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in maintenance, construction, equipment operation, or mechanical repair
- Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions
- Experience operating light, medium, or heavy equipment (for Equipment Operator roles)
- Technical repair skills (for Industrial Mechanic roles)
- Leadership experience (for Crew Leader)

Salary Range
$42,478.44 - $62,483.61
