Description

Spend this summer gaining valuable experience as a Lifeguard at Camp Ondessonk. Situated on 983 acres adjacent to the Shawnee National Forest, Camp Ondessonk is a Catholic Youth Camp serving children ages 8-16. As a Lifeguard, you will spend the summer working and learning daily with the other lifeguards to ensure campers and staff have safe aquatic experiences at Camp Ondessonk. Positions are available in swimming lifeguarding, boating lifeguarding, and in leadership positions for each aquatic activity area.

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervise campers during aquatic blocks
• Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of the aquatic activity areas
• Support Unit Leader of assigned unit in camper supervision and facilitation of unit life experiences
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 17 years of age
• Active Lifeguard Certification
• Flexibility, good work ethic, and solid communication skills

• Basic Swim Instructor
• Lifeguard Instructor
• American Canoeing Association Instructor
• Strong teaching ability
• Proficiency in paddling techniques
