Laurens Central School The Laurens Central School District is currently accepting applications for a Head Track and Field Coach and Assistant Coach for the 25-26 school year. This is for a two-school merged team. Candidates must have NYS Coaching Certification, current AED & CPR certification. The Head Track & Field Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of a competitive and educational track and field program. This role provides strategic direction, instruction, and mentorship to student-athletes while promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and academic success. The Head Coach plans and conducts effective practices, develops training and conditioning programs, and prepares athletes for competition across all track and field events. Responsibilities include supervising assistant coaches, coordinating meet schedules, managing equipment and facilities, and ensuring compliance with school, league, and governing body regulations. The Head Track & Field Coach fosters a positive team culture, emphasizes athlete safety and injury prevention, and communicates effectively with athletes, parents, administrators, and officials. Additional duties may include athlete evaluation, talent development, budget oversight, and participation in professional development. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, organizational skills, technical knowledge of track and field events, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
