Overview

Ellington Ridge Country Club is looking for a passionate and hardworking Head Golf Professional to work closely with the General Manager/Director of Golf to manage all aspects of the golf operation on a daily basis. This includes overseeing the golf staff, golf instruction, tournaments, retail operations, and member relations. The Head Golf Professional ensures the golf program is running smoothly and provides exceptional service to club members, guests, and staff. Ellington Ridge Country Club owns and operates two AboutGolf Simulators during the winter months providing the membership with year round golf, and year round golf instruction opportunities. ERCC has a supportive and engaging membership, excellent practice facilites, and a quality golf course that has hosted several major CT PGA and CSGA events as well as the Open Qualifier for the PGA Tour's Traveler's Championship. 

Experience Required

5+ years of experience in golf course operations

PGA Class A Membership Preferred

Proficient with Golf Genius

Strong knowledge of golf instruction, course management, and event coordination

Excellent customer service, communication, leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Sound understanding of budget management

 

 

Essential Responsibilities

Overseeing daily operations including, but not limited to:

Manage tee times and billing of golf operation

Golf cart fleet management

Pace of play management

Member etiquette

Assist with golf shop retail operations

Provide quality golf instruction

Operate successful junior golf program

Operate busy member and outing tournament schedule

Recruit, train, and manage golf staff

Foster a positive work environment

Provide outstanding customer service to members & guests

Work closely with the General Manager/Director of Golf to Manage Golf Department Budget

Maintain a fun, welcoming, and inclusive environment for our members, guests, and staff. 

Assist with winter golf leagues

Develop and maintain strong relationships with members and guests

Develop strategies to control costs and increase profitabilty

Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote golf programs

Coordinate with other departments and General Manager to ensure efficient communication and event management
