Overview

The Golf Shop Manager of Sittler Golf is responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, driving sales growth, managing staff, and delivering an exceptional customer experience tailored to golfers of all skill levels. The Golf Shop Manager works closely with the leadership team, including maintenance management and teaching professionals to ensure
smooth operations across all areas of the business. This role combines strong retail leadership with knowledge of golf equipment, apparel, and industry trends. The Shop Manager ensures operational excellence, profitability, and a welcoming environment for both seasoned players and new golfers.
Sittler Golf is a premier golf retail and custom fitting center located in Sinking Spring, PA offering a premium practice facility, PGA instruction, and Golf Digest recognized clubfitting services alongside our 3,500 ft² retail floor.

Experience Required

Qualifications & Skills
• 1-2 years in a supervisory role (sporting goods or specialty retail preferred)
• Strong knowledge of golf equipment, apparel, and current industry trends
• Experience with golf club fitting technology (preferred)
• Proven track record of driving sales and managing profitability
• Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution and coaching skills
• Analytical mindset with experience reviewing sales and inventory data
• Proficiency with POS systems and retail management software
• Passion for golf and customer service

Essential Responsibilities

1. Store Operations
• Oversee daily operations including sales floor management, merchandising, club
displays, and public range areas
• Maintain high standards of visual presentation for golf clubs, balls, bags, apparel, footwear, and accessories
• Manage inventory levels and seasonal product transitions
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures

2. Sales & Business Performance
• Develop and execute strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets
• Drive custom fitting services, special orders, and sale opportunities
• Build relationships with local golf courses, leagues, and instructors to increase store traffic
• Plan in-store promotions aligned with peak golf seasons

3. Team Leadership & Development
• Recruit, train, and lead a knowledgeable sales team with strong product expertise
• Provide ongoing coaching on sales strategies, knowledge of product offerings, and customer engagement
• Create staff schedules based on seasonal traffic and promotional events
• Conduct performance reviews and foster a competitive, team-oriented culture

4. Customer Experience & Community Engagement
• Deliver a premium, consultative shopping experience
• Handle customer inquiries and warranty claims professionally
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for golfers of all skill levels and abilities

5. Inventory Management & Loss Prevention
• Monitor high-value inventory such as drivers, irons, putters, and rangefinders
• Conduct regular inventory audits and minimize shrinkage
• Assist with managing vendor relationships and product replenishment cycles
• Ensure accurate receiving, transfers, and stock documentation
