$110,000 - $120,000 Annually
Miramont Country Club is seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent to manage all golf course maintenance operations and lead cultural practices, project work, and team development. This leader will uphold the highest playing conditions for our members and guests while maintaining the strong operational standards set by the Director of Agronomy. The Superintendent will be responsible for payroll, personnel, operations, and all application records, while maintaining effective employee and Club member relations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
AGRONOMY & OPERATIONS
→ Direct all maintenance activities across the golf course
→ Manage turf and ornamental planting, fertilization, and plant protection programs
→ Oversee irrigation operation, scheduling, and repair
→ Calibrate fertilizer & pesticide application equipment
→ Proactively manage disease, insect, and weed pressure via IPM
→ Supervise bunker, ornamental bed, and tree/shrub maintenance
→ Inspect and operate the irrigation pump house
LEADERSHIP & TEAM
→ Supervise assistant superintendents and mid-level managers
→ Brief team daily on priorities and upcoming projects
→ Train staff on safe equipment use and irrigation
→ Interview, hire, and onboard new team members
→ Enforce progressive discipline; maintain records with HR
→ Process timekeeping and payroll approvals
→ Lead by example to reinforce club values and vision
FINANCE & RECORDS
→ Administer department budget within established guidelines
→ Assist Director of Agronomy with annual capital budget
→ Maintain pesticide, fertilizer, safety, and maintenance records
MEMBER EXPERIENCE
→ Maintain exceptional playing conditions for members and guests
→ Provide professional advice and service to all patrons
→ Promote all club activities and services
→ Ensure traffic control, hazard stakes, and signage are orderly

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3-4 years of golf operations management experience
- Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and plant/turf science
- Ability to operate landscape maintenance equipment
- Familiarity with ornamental plants, annuals, bulbs, and perennials
- Excellent communication and member relations skills
- * 4-year degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, or Golf Course Management
- * Warm-season turfgrass management experience
- * Golf course construction or renovation experience
- * Prior high-end golf, country club, or hospitality experience
*Starred items are preferred qualifications
REQUIRED LICENSES
- Valid Driver's License
- TDA Pesticide Applicator's License (Texas)
