Description
OverviewA historic and financially stable private golf & country club in Oklahoma City seeks an energetic, highly visible General Manager to serve as Chief Operating Officer. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the GM will lead all club operations, drive financial performance, enhance the member experience, and guide strategic growth while honoring the Club's rich golf traditions.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an emerging leader currently serving in a senior department head or assistant GM role who is ready to step into full-club leadership and build long-term value within a premier golf-focused environment.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be:
- A visible, member-focused leader with strong executive presence.
- Financially astute with demonstrated success managing club operations and P&L performance.
- Experienced in improving Food & Beverage operations and overall efficiency.
- Skilled in membership development and retention strategies.
- An effective communicator comfortable working closely with a Board of Directors.
- Passionate about golf and appreciative of private club culture.
Experience Required
Quailifications
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in a private club, golf facility, or hospitality environment.
- Proven multi-department management experience.
- Strong financial management and budgeting expertise.
- Board reporting experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- CMAA involvement and/or CCM deisgnation is a plus.
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership & Governance
- Serve as strategic partner to the Board of Directors.
- Provide transparent reporting and professional guidance on operations and long-term planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and collaboration.
Operational & Financial Management
- Full P&L responsibility and oversight of all departments including Golf, Agronomy, Food & Beverage, Events, Facilities, Finance, and Administration.
- Develop and manage operating and capital budgets.
- Strengthen operational efficiency, with emphasis on Food & Beverage performance.
- Drive revenue growth while maintaining fiscal discipline and strong internal controls.
Membership & Engagement
- Lead strategic membership growth through targeted marketing and relationship-based sales.
- Oversee digital presence, branding, and social media strategy.
- Maintain high visibility and strong member engagement.
- Elevate service standards and overall club experience.
Golf & Club Culture
- Champion the golf experience in partnership with the Head Golf Professional and Superintendent.
- Support tournaments, programming, and traditions that reinforce the Club's identity and history.
