Position Summary
Operate as the General Counsel for the whole organization, liaising with external counsel, advising the leadership team on legal matters, and partnering with the team on strategic guidance and business direction.
Key Responsibilities:
The GC will report to the Chief Executive Officer of PMB Services, Inc. Strategic initiatives include (but are not limited to):
Create standards and guidelines for leasing agreements that lead to consistent revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
In conjunction with IT, standardize and streamline contracts for various products to allow for agility in the marketplace.
From a day-to-day perspective, he/she will:
Work with the CEO, CSO, and other General Managers to provide counsel and guidance as it pertains to legal matters (particularly contracts).
Draft, review, and negotiate additional contracts, leases, vendor agreements, and customer-facing documents.
Lead internal investigations, oversee claims and disputes, and manage relationships with external counsel as needed.
Oversee credit approval and collections policies for rent-to-own agreements, maintaining risk controls and customer fairness.
Ensure the business complies with all applicable laws, including consumer protection, employment law, data privacy, and financial regulations.
Requirements
Functional Experiences, Skills and Requirements
JD from an accredited law school, and active law license (required for General Counsel duties).
Prior experience in business operations preferred.
2-3 years’ experience in rent-to-own, leasing, or collection agency strongly preferred
Legal experience in commercial law, contracts, collections, or consumer law strongly preferred.
Strong leadership skills and proven experience in team and operations management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Business financial acumen and experience interpreting business performance data.
Other Skills Required:
Quantify and logically process business demands; relates easily to leadership through appropriate metrics and ratios when making decisions.
Ability to prioritize demands from multiple projects, eventually transitioning from hands-on to scalable process.
Strong collaborative problem solving skills and strong project management skills.
High proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
