- Foundation Development Manager
Description
Develops and implements comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet the Foundation's financial goals. Oversees the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns. Identifies and cultivates potential donors and sponsors. Manages donor relationships and ensures effective communication and engagement. Analyzes fundraising data to assess the effectiveness of initiatives and make improvements. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to align fundraising efforts with the Foundation's mission and objectives. Ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards in all fundraising activities. Provides leadership and direction to the fundraising team. Develops and monitors fundraising budgets to ensure financial accountability. Creates and maintains detailed records of fundraising activities and donor information. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability and desire to share the mission of the hospital system throughout the community, which is to Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ.
Able to communicate and motivate via excellent written and verbal skills.
Understand the principles of donor marketing and fundraising cost-effectiveness, including donor targeting, donor giving opportunity development, organizational need and solutions-based selling, and expense to profit ratio.
In-depth knowledge of regional, corporate, and civic community, or a proven track record of successful territory development in a major market.
Self-starter with the initiative to manage up to 120 major gift prospects and donors, and coordinate with other Foundation managers to ensure total coverage of the donor/prospect base.
Appreciate the need for consistency within the organization’s branding and marketing mix.
Currently have or be willing to build an established network of community and business relationships.
Adept in the use of MS Office products, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and ideally familiar with fundraising and donor prospect software, such as Raiser’s Edge.
Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high-quality major gift solicitation.
Natural forward planner able to critically assess own performance.
Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with senior managers, company executives, board members, and grateful patients.
Reliable, tolerant, and determined.
Empathetic communicator, able to see things from the other person’s point of view.
Well-presented and businesslike.
Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel within the regional area.
Open to new experiences, responsibilities, and accountabilities.
Able to get along well with others and be a team-player.
Ability to speak and write in additional languages. [Preferred]
Passion for beneficiary via volunteer work. [Preferred]
Experience in hospital fundraising. [Preferred]
Experience with capital campaigns. [Preferred]
Manage all aspects of fundraising programs and effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals from executives to volunteers.
Cultivate, support, and implement volunteer-led events while maintaining high degrees of discretion and confidentiality.
Develop and deliver presentation and marketing materials for donor solicitation and recognition programs.
Serve as a community advocate for the Foundation and the Hospital, including attending board meetings and presenting program updates.
Committed to personal and professional development, including pursuing relevant certifications.
