Description
OverviewThe successful candidate should have a strong work ethic, passion for the game of golf, and thrive in a team environment. The applicant should be a PGA member or enrolled in the PGA PGM/Associate Program, with a career goal of becoming a Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf.
The First Assistant Golf Professional will work closely with the Director of Golf, Assistant Professionals, Golf Shop Manager, and Outside Service Team to provide an exceptional golf experience for members and guests. The opportunity to aid and learn best practices in the planning, organizing, promoting, and execution of all golf programs and operations to develop critical skills and knowledge to become a Head Professional/Director of Golf.
Experience Required
- Minimum 3+ years as an Assistant Professional in a private club setting
- PGA Class A membership preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Golf Genius
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Maintains a clean and professional appearance
- Accomplished Golfer
Essential Responsibilities
This position will require the management and execution of the following responsibilities but may not be limited to:
- Promote and provide an exceptional experience for members and guests
- Be a visible and accessible member of the golf operations team
- Complete management of the club's tournament schedule
- Oversee and assist in the execution of the Men's and Ladies' Leagues
- Coordinate, execute, and manage daily play
- Manage staff scheduling to meet operational needs and financial goals
- Assist in training and management of the outside service team
- Assist in all aspects of the club's retail merchandise concession
- Instruct and provide quality lesson experience for members and guests
- Play with a diversity of the club's membership
- Maintain active standing with PGA of America
- Compete in Section events when possible
