OverviewJob Summary
Specific Responsibilities:
As the Assistant Golf Professional, you will be specifically responsible for successfully carrying out the following duties:
- Participate in overseeing the entire golf operation under the supervision of the Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional, in the absence of the Director of Golf.
- Assist with the day-to-day operation of the facility. This includes the following:
- Ensure the Professional Team completes all daily opening and closing procedures.
- Teaching
- Private Lessons
- Clinics
- Club Fitting
- Coordinate with the outside operations manager and team to provide a first-class experience to all members/guests.
- Oversee the daily tee sheet and assist in the daily billing of the tee sheet.
- First tee host and on-course player assistant.
- Tournament Coordinator- Conduct the member golf events, primarily focusing on significant club tournaments (Member-Member, Member-Guest, Club Championship, Couples Member-Guest, etc.).
- Pre-tournament setup.
- Golf Genius
- During Tournament Management.
- Scoring
- Golf Genius
- Communication with the entire Golf Operations Team and Food & Beverage.
- Post Tournament communication and wrap-up.
- Liaison to the MGA, LGA; this includes but is not limited to the following:
- Weekly play.
- Communication and marketing.
- Work jointly with the Group Leader/captain to ensure their expectations are met/exceeded.
- Assist in the monthly inventory.
- Assist in making sure the golf shop is maintained neatly and cleanly
daily.
- Spread hospitality and goodwill among all members and guests.
- Possess a thorough understanding of overall golf operation.
- Perform any duties requested by the Director of Golf
- Play golf with our members and guests.
Assists Golf Professional with numerous activities relating to the management and operation of the club's golf program including the management of day-to-day golf operations, supervision of the total golf operations with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction of all members and their guests.
Experience Required
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
- Knowledge and understanding of golf course procedures
- Familiar with all aspects of tournament set-up, including scorecards, golf car tags, proximities, staging area set-up, and billing charges
- Stays up-dated and current on all upcoming club events
- Maintains playing ability and works to remain competent in all areas of the game
- Self-motivated with a desire to promote and market
- Service and customer-focused attitude
- Conducts oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times
- Acts as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees
- Maintains and promotes a positive professional image within the community
- Knowledge of and ability to perform the required role during emergency situations
Essential Responsibilities
Job Tasks/Duties
- Assist with golfer check-in; control and manage play
- Assist with all opening and closing procedures
- Assist in managing facility tournament operations including weekly events
- Assist in tournament operations and weekly events including planning, post-tournament billing, promotion, course set-up, preparation, scoring, prize distribution, and follow up
- Assists with men's, women's, and junior golf events and programs
- Assists with the management of outside service staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service are achieved
- Assists in managing golf car operation, practice facility, and club storage service
- Provides club repair services to members and their guests
- Plays golf with a variety of member's in competitive and non-competitive situations
- Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe working environment, with emphasis on promoting employee health and safety
