The Finish Blade Operator levels dirt and stone for finish grade of land and roadways.
The Role:
- Safely operates blade to achieve the specified finish grade.
- Reads grade stakes and works with grade checker, laser, or GPS to maintain grade.
- Works closely with all crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety.
- Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that machine is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
- Reports to shop when equipment needs maintenance and repair.
- Keeps equipment clean and prepares equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
- Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at job site.
- Follows Supervisor's instructions closely.
Work Environment:
- Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Walk, bend, climb, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
- Work extended hours out of doors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Travel and some Saturday work is required.

- Understand specifics of blade mechanicals.
- Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
