Job Overview
The Field Director will oversee the field effort for the Dan Norton for NYS Assembly campaign. The Field Director will collaborate closely with the Campaign Manager and other staff to ensure all local communities are engaged and empowered to vote in 2026.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement a district-wide field plan.
Recruit, train, and manage paid canvassing staff and volunteers
Oversee the hiring, management, and training of a large staff
Create staff and volunteer training materials.
Create aspirational goals and coach organizers to success.
Develop appropriate metrics and manage systems of accountability for staff and
volunteers.
Collaborate with and facilitate communication between field teams from partner
campaigns and coordinated campaign offices.
Facilitate communication between the field team and other departments
Analyze data and modeling to create and track progress in voter contact universes.
Leverage innovative voter contact tools and integrate them into the field plan.
Additional duties as assigned by the Campaign Manager
Requirements:
Experience training, supporting, and managing staff in an electoral or community
engagement capacity
At least one cycle of political campaign experience
Proficiency using Votebuilder (NGP VAN)
Demonstrated commitment to electing Democratic candidates up and down the ballot
Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle
Willingness to work long and unpredictable hours, especially evenings and weekends.
Preferred but not required:
NY experience or ties to the state or county
Experience organizing in both urban and rural settings
