About Island Pacific Golf Academy

Founded in 2009, Island Pacific Golf Academy (iPGA) is Hawaii's leading stand-alone golf academy dedicated to "Teaching Tomorrow's Golfers Today." Our mission is to impact the lives of young children by providing enrichment programs that promote life values, fun, and character development through golf. We offer after-school enrichment, club fitting, on-course clinics, group and private lessons, and tournament play, with a special emphasis on junior golf and family engagement.

Position Summary

The Director of Instruction (DOI) is the educational and operational leader of Island Pacific Golf Academy's instructional programs. The DOI will design, implement, and oversee all coaching and player development initiatives, with a primary focus on junior golfers and family participation. This role requires a passion for youth development, a commitment to fun and safety, and the ability to inspire both students and staff.

Experience Required

PGA or LPGA Member in good standing (preferred), or equivalent teaching credentials.

Minimum 5 years of golf instruction experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

Demonstrated expertise in junior golf instruction and player development.

Experience with after-school enrichment, tournament management, and family-oriented programming is highly desirable.

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency with golf technology (simulators, launch monitors, video analysis).

Commitment to fostering a fun, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Responsibilities

Instructional Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of certified instructors to deliver engaging, age-appropriate, and safe golf instruction.

Personally deliver private lessons, group clinics, after-school enrichment, and on-course programs for all ages and abilities, with a focus on juniors.

Integrate modern teaching technologies (e.g., indoor simulators, video analysis) to enhance the learning experience.

Program Development & Management

Oversee the design and execution of all instructional offerings, including U.S. Kids Golf Local Tours, PGA Junior League, and custom club fitting.

Develop and manage a year-round calendar of programs, clinics, and tournaments.

Monitor program effectiveness and student progress, making data-driven improvements.

Community Engagement & Outreach

Build relationships with local schools, families, and community organizations to expand after-school enrichment and outreach programs.

Represent iPGA at community events, tournaments, and in partnerships with local golf courses (e.g., Hawaii Prince Golf Course).

Promote a culture of inclusion, sportsmanship, and family involvement.

Operational & Administrative Oversight

Ensure all teaching areas, equipment, and technology are maintained to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Manage scheduling, staff assignments, and program logistics in coordination with academy leadership.

Assist with budgeting, reporting, and compliance with academy policies and industry standards.

Benefits

Commission-Based Compensation: This position is 100% commission-based, offering significant earning potential. Estimated average at approximately $7,500 per month, with no cap on income.
