We are seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives for our Durable Medical Equipment (DME) organization. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on expanding market presence, developing new revenue streams, and building strong partnerships across the healthcare landscape.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive growth and profitability
- Identify new markets, services, and partnership opportunities within the DME and healthcare space
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to guide decision-making
- Build and maintain relationships with key partners, referral sources, and stakeholders
- Lead negotiations for contracts, partnerships, and expansion opportunities
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align growth strategies
- Drive initiatives that generate new revenue streams and enhance service offerings
- Oversee market research and evaluate emerging industry opportunities
- Partner with executive leadership to shape long-term strategic plans
- Track and report performance metrics (KPIs), risks, and growth opportunities
- Support DME accreditation efforts, training, and survey preparation
- Participate in leadership initiatives and ongoing professional development (including VGM training)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
Experience
- 7+ years in business development, sales, or strategic planning
- Proven track record of driving growth and closing high-value deals
- Experience in DME, healthcare, or related industry strongly preferred
Skills
- Strong negotiation and deal-closing expertise
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute long-term growth plans
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Deep understanding of healthcare/DME market dynamics
- Data-driven decision-making and analytical skills
Requirements
- Previous experience in DME and/or strategic planning
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged sitting, computer use, and communication (phone/in-person)
- Ability to travel and operate a motor vehicle
