Description
We are seeking a mid-career Business Development Professional — ideally with military background and a track record in government procurement, R&D contracts, and product sales — to drive EDC’s next phase of growth. This role will leverage existing strengths while cultivating new customer relationships across DoD, allied militaries, and prime contractors. The successful candidate will champion EDC’s technologies through their network, thought leadership, and proposal excellence.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Military Background: Uniform or civilian with requirements, acquisition, or procurement experience.
Experience: Government business development including direct proposal leadership, success winning DOD R&D and product contracts.
Technical Familiarity: Solid understanding of aerospace systems.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Preferred Skills
Communication: Exceptional written and oral presentation skills; comfortable briefing senior military and civilian leaders.
Proposal Crafting: Expertise in technical writing, compliance matrices, and cost volume development.
Networker: Proven ability to build and sustain relationships across Program Offices, PMs, and industry partners.
Self-Starter: Entrepreneurial mindset, able to develop capture strategies with minimal oversight.
Team Player: Collaborative approach, fostering cross-functional alignment between engineering, operations, and finance.
