Description
Wolf Cove Inn is a luxury lakeside boutique bed & breakfast in Poland, Maine known for thoughtful hospitality and elevated dining experiences. We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented cook to join our kitchen team and support both breakfast service and our evening dining program.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small, collaborative kitchen environment and takes pride in preparing thoughtful, well-executed dishes for guests.
Requirements
Responsibilities
Prepare and execute breakfast service at least 2 mornings per week
Assist with and occasionally lead dinner service
Support the Executive Chef in executing our signature seasonally inspired chalkboard dinner menu
Prepare and cook our popular Tripp Lake pizzas
Assist the Executive Chef with prep, plating, and service execution
Help support our unique elevated dining experiences, including Romance Dinners, weddings, private events, and occasional pop-up events
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations
Follow established recipes, preparation standards, and plating guidelines
Ensure consistent quality and presentation for guests
Work some solo kitchen shifts while maintaining organization and quality
Guest Interaction
Our kitchen is partially open to the dining area, and guests occasionally enjoy interacting with the kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable offering a friendly greeting or briefly speaking with guests when appropriate while maintaining focus during service. Professional presentation and a welcoming demeanor are important in this guest-facing environment.
Qualifications
Prior line cook or restaurant kitchen experience required
Fine dining or elevated cooking experience preferred
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
Strong attention to detail and consistency in plating and execution
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced service environment
Reliable and flexible with scheduling
Weekend availability required
Schedule
Combination of breakfast and dinner shifts
Minimum 2 breakfast shifts per week
Evening dinner service shifts
Weekends required
Some solo kitchen shifts
Compensation
$20–$24 per hour depending on experience
