Position Summary
Nila For Congress seeks a full-time, in-person Deputy Campaign Manager to support the Campaign Manager in daily operations, with primary focus on communications strategy and field organizing. You will develop messaging plans, handle media outreach, coordinate digital/grassroots communications, and lead volunteer networks and voter engagement efforts. This senior role works directly with the Candidate, Campaign Manager, and consultants. Ideal candidate: strategic thinker and hands-on leader with campaign communications and organizing experience.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute comprehensive communications plan (media relations, social media, press releases, digital content) to amplify the campaign message locally and nationally
Set and track monthly/quarterly goals for communications metrics (media hits, social engagement) and organizing targets (volunteer recruitment, voter contacts); prepare reports and forecasts
Prepare candidate for communications: talking points, media briefings, interview prep, follow-up systems
Plan and execute community events (town halls, volunteer trainings, rallies, canvass launches)
Coordinate volunteer committees, invitations, follow-up, and acknowledgments
Identify, research, and cultivate community leaders, volunteers, and endorsers
Maintain relationships via personalized outreach and engagement
Keep accurate volunteer/supporter records in NGP VAN or similar CRM
Produce organizing/communications reports, projections, and briefings
Ensure compliance with campaign regulations in communications and organizing
Recruit, train, and supervise communications/organizing interns and volunteers
Requirements
2+ full campaign cycles in communications or organizing roles in federal, statewide, or competitive legislative races
Proven success managing communications strategies (media outreach, digital) and organizing programs (field ops, volunteer management)
Familiarity with tools: NGP VAN, ActBlue, Google Workspace, social platforms (X, Facebook, Instagram), Mobilize, or equivalents
Ability to juggle priorities in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
Willingness to work evenings/weekends as needed
Driver’s license and ability to travel in-district
