Description
Grant County, an Equal Opportunity Employer, located in Elbow Lake is currently accepting applications for the position of a full-time Deputy Assessor. Required qualifications include a Certified Minnesota Assessor license and the Accredited Minnesota Assessor license within 2 years of the Certified Minnesota Assessor License. The position, under supervision of the County Assessor, appraises all types of property, which include physically viewing and classifying property. Maintains the property tax library on the County’s AS/400 system which includes CAMA and land calculation. Maintains homestead process. Works with the public concerning issues with property values, taxes, property classification, and the valuation process. Maintains the required license and education to legally assess property in the State of Minnesota. Assists in the absence of the Assessment Technician by performing intermediate skilled technical and administrative work in assisting the County Assessor in the valuation, classification, and assessment of real and personal property. Attends Local Board of Equalization where property values can be contested. Maintains cross county values, Homestead files, linkage, and maintains special programs including special agricultural homestead and Veterans Exclusion programs. Prepares correspondence regarding assessment notices.
The Deputy Assessor is a full-time, non-exempt, union position. The salary range for this position is $29.02-$40.57 per hour. Beginning wage will depend on training and experience. Health insurance is offered with an employer contribution of up to $2000/month. Grant County offers 12 paid holidays, with excellent vacation and sick accruals.
