4.0. Movement Studios is seeking a positive and experienced Dance Instructor. Enjoyment in teaching dance classes in a variety of styles, the ability to communicate effectively, and flexibility in meeting individual student needs and goals are a must. You must have at least one year of previous dance teaching experience and a willingness and eagerness to continue to grow and develop in your role. We only hire A-players who want to contribute to the positive success of our students, our business, and the dance community! Candidates must have excellent organization, effective verbal and written communication, a creative and flexible teaching style, and an enthusiastic, professional, and warm approach with students and parents. Ongoing training and development are required in this role, as well as a positive, can-do attitude!
Requirements
Responsibilities include:
- Attend weekly dance classes as scheduled, and find a substitute if you're unable to attend.
- Follow the outlined class curriculum and foster a fun, positive, and structured classroom environment.
- Prepare weekly lesson plans and keep clear, detailed, and easy-to-understand notes.
- Ensure music and choreography are clean, age-appropriate, and well-rehearsed, and that all students know their dance.
- Establish age-appropriate classroom rules and guidelines that support the studio’s code of conduct, and regularly reward students for good behavior.
- Dress professionally and ensure that students adhere to the dress code.
- Interact professionally with students and parents, and coach and mentor Serve & Slay and interns.
- Attend all monthly staff meetings, stay informed about important studio updates, complete assignments on time, and respond promptly to communication.
- Assist with and attend special events and performances.
- Participate in an annual performance review.
- Fulfill any other responsibilities as requested by your supervisor.
