Description
The Monroe Municipal Utilities Authority is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Comptroller This position plays a key role in ensuring fiscal integrity, transparency, and compliance.
Position Overview
The Comptroller is responsible for managing the organization’s accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting and internal controls. The role of the Comptroller ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and supports senior leadership
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile bank accounts to the general ledger
- General ledger entries
- Monthly Treasurer reports
- Maintain Authority escrow accounts
- Oversee all Payroll transactions and reporting
- Oversee and assist in the daily workflow of the Accounting Department
- Guide employee actions by developing policies, procedures and guidelines
- Preparation and submittal of the annual budgets to the State of NJ
- Assist auditor with annual audit requirements
- Recommend future course of action based on knowledge and experience
- Provide financial data to assist with forecasts and strategic planning
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Municipal accounting experience
- Knowledge of Edmunds accounting system
