Preston Hood Chevrolet is a high-performing Chevrolet Dealership Committed to Exceptional Customer Service, Profitable Operations, and Community Presence. We seek an experienced, hands-on Comptroller to lead financial strategies, strengthen controls, and partner with leadership to grow revenue and margins across New & Pre-Owned vehicle Sales, F&I, Service, Parts, and Fixed Operations.
Role Summary as Comptroller you will own all financial functions and provide Strategic Financial Leadership to the Dealer Principal and Executive Team. Delivering accurate reporting, cash and capital management, optimize dealership profitability, ensure compliance with franchisor and regulatory requirements, and drive data-informed decisions that support operational and growth objectives.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Accounting, Payroll, AR/AP, Month-End close, Financial Reporting, and Tax Filings for the Dealership.
- Produce timely financial statements, KPI dashboards, and variance analysis, present insights and recommendations to the Dealer Principal and Management Team.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, bank relationships, floor plan financing, and capital planning for inventory and facility investments.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting; model scenarios to support pricing, staffing, and capital decisions.
- Ensure compliance with General Motors/Chevrolet franchise requirements, Dealer Financial Policies, and Federal/State Tax and labor laws.
- Strengthen internal controls and audit readiness across departments (Sales, F&I, Service, Parts).
- Partner with Sales, Service, Parts, and HR leaders to measure and improve profitability by department.
- Lead or coordinate external audits, floorplan reviews, and lender/partner reporting.
- Manage and develop the finance and accounting team; implement process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Drive initiatives to improve gross margins, fixed-ops absorption, inventory turns, and expense control.
