Description
Palm Beach Opera seeks a Company Manager for seasonal work through March/April 2026. The Company Manager is a key member of the artistic & production department, integral to the success of the company’s mainstage activities and resident artist programs through management of the daily schedule and artist services. The current holder of this position will be transitioning within the company to a new role in the Development Department, and will remain available to onboard and train their successor. The ideal candidate will be highly-organized, meticulously detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and a creative problem solver with excellent communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Artistic Planning & Scheduling
- Create and manage the daily rehearsal schedule, coordinating requests of artistic leadership, production staff, music staff, and development and marketing teams, and ensuring that all assignments and projects receive adequate rehearsal time.
Artist Services
- Manage all artistic and production housing needs, including coordination of hotel reservations, securing seasonal leases, preparation of tenant applications, and the logistics of move-in, cleanings, and maintenance.
- Manage all artistic and production travel needs, including booking flights and airport transportation, rental car reservations and billing, and processing reimbursements.
- Manage all artistic and production hospitality initiatives, including welcome bags, catering, cast gifts, comp tickets, and development of company/community guides.
Administration
- Assist with artistic and production credit card expense reporting.
- Assist with artistic and production events, auditions, and other department projects as needed.
- Administer ArtsVision and enter and update production information. Maintain company database, production files, and archival records.
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours, including extended hours, evenings, and weekends.
- A background in the opera industry and understanding of the production process is required.
- Ability to establish priorities and multitask, with strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact with a wide range of personalities.
- Discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
- Knowledge of computerized information systems and their application, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with ArtsVision or similar programs is an advantage.
- Access to reliable transportation.
