Job Description:
We have exciting opportunities for one, maybe two QC/QA Coating Inspectors. You may be embedded in ongoing rehabilitation projects in the South and Midwest, or working multiple municipality jobs coming up in Oregon, as well as others on the horizon in Hawaii.
We need at least one inspector for projects in Oregon ASAP!
Peak Performance is seeking experienced CIP-1 and/or CIP-2 inspectors to join our team. PPC is based just outside Portland, Oregon, with all work out in the field. We have jobs going now and, in the future, located in the USA South, Midwest, and Pacific Northwest.
Qualifications:
- High-school diploma
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, email, digital photos
- Must be able to prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively under time constraints
- Exhibit strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to develop skills and certifications through applicable industry organizations, such as AMPP.
- Willingness to work as a team
- OQ’s (to be provided by Peak Performance prior to being on-site)
- Have your own inspection tools (at least Dew Meter and DFT tools).
Knowledge/Skill:
- Ability to record inspection data with electronic tools (DeFelsko, Elcometer, etc.)
- Ability to confirm calibration of all tools daily
- Ability to record anomaly measurements
- Ability to utilize multimeter
- Knowledge of Epoxies, Urethanes, Polysiloxanes, Denso Tape a plus
- Knowledgeable of stop work procedures, safety practices and procedures
- Knowledge of below and above ground projects a plus
Working Environment:
- Travel required for 75%-100% of work
- Current Projects in East Oklahoma, West Texas, and Oregon
- Stay in Hotel or your RV
Licenses/Certificates:
- Valid Driver’s License (required)
- NACE/AMPP CIP Level 1 or Level 2 (either will be required)
- TWIC a plus

Requirements
- Provide coating QC inspection services during work activities, and assure ALL work is as per the spec
- Issue project specific reports
- Complete company forms as required
- Taking ambient conditions
- Excellent communication with painting/blasting crews
- Outstanding communication with engineering and management staff
- Work in a safe manner and observe safety rules
- Keep a detailed and in-depth logbook
- Perform hold-point inspections such as…(however not limited to…)
- Pre-blast initial condition analysis
- Abrasive blast inspection
- Oversee mixing of all coatings
- Pre-coating application inspection
- Post-coating application inspection
- Take WFT/DFT readings
- Complete timely daily inspection reports
- Work with coating inspection equipment
- Be familiar with relevant coatings removal/application/inspection standards
- You should be familiar with the current NACE, SSPC, AMPP, ISO, relevant ASTM and OSHA standards along with general accepted practices performed during industrial coatings projects.
