The Role

We are hiring for janitorial positions providing services within a secure Los Angeles County correctional facility located in Downtown Los Angeles. Schedule & PayAvailable schedules:Tuesday Saturday, 3:00 PM 11:30 PMSunday Thursday, 3:00 PM 11:30 PMPay rate: $23.50 per hourEligibility Requirements (Please Read Carefully)Due to the secure nature of the correctional facility, meeting the requirements below is a condition of employment.Candidates must be able to:Pass a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department background investigationWork the full assigned shift without access to a personal cell phoneProvide a valid, unexpired California State ID or Driver's LicenseSpeak and understand EnglishHiring Event InformationWe are hosting an in-person hiring event for these positions. WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Perform cleaning and sanitation duties in inmate housing units, restrooms, and common areas 
• Clean and disinfect inmate cells, restrooms, showers, and other high-touch surfaces to maintain hygiene and prevent the spread of illness
• Handle and properly dispose of waste materials, including biohazardous or bodily fluids, following approved procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; promptly clean spills in offices and public areas.
• Maintain janitor's closet clean, neat, and in orderly condition.  
• Other jobs and duties as identified or assigned as needed.
