Southwest Vermont Regional Technical School District Job Title: Phlebotomy Instructor for Adult Education Location: Southwest Tech, Bennington, VT School Year: 2026-2027 Employment Type: Part-time, non-benefited (evenings) Salary: $40 per hour Application Deadline: April 15, 2026 Position Overview The Phlebotomy instructor teaches a short-term training program aligned with industry standards. This role includes implementing standards-based curriculum and laboratory instruction that prepares students for certification and entry-level employment in the field. The teacher collaborates with community healthcare partners to assist in the transition to the healthcare workforce. Qualifications A minimum of five years of full time experience as a Phlebotomist. Teaching experience is helpful but not required. Knowledge of the skills required for entry level positions in the industry. Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to become certified. Ability to work effectively with staff and students. Performance Responsibilities Develop and teach a curriculum that aligns with industry standards. Form positive relationships with students and effectively manage a classroom of adult learners. Facilitate a Program Advisory Committee of local industry partners to guide the launching of the program. Maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting. Participate in professional development and assist with recruitment activities. Prepare students for taking national certification exams. Tools/Technology Requirements: a) Ability to utilize technology and operate computers and computer programs. b) Proficiency with healthcare equipment and simulation devices. 2. Physical and Mental Demands: a) Frequently required to stand; walk; sit. b) Occasional lifting or assisting with lifting, reaching with hands and arms. 3. Work Environment: a) Inside the school building. 4.
