New River Veterinary Specialists is seeking to add an additional Board Certified Criticalist, or an individual who has completed an ACVECC/ECVECC approved residency.
We are searching for a Criticalist who enjoys working closely with other specialists and emergency doctors and practices top-tier medicine. Our Criticalists run our dedicated ICU and provide primary case management including comprehensive diagnostic work-ups and dedicated inpatient management. In-house case consultations, anesthesia support, diagnostic procedures and referring veterinary consultations round out our days. Daily all-doctor case rounds provide opportunities for continuous multi-specialty collaboration and ER doctor mentorship.
We believe that there should be no barriers between emergency doctors and specialists. Our Critical Care department also supports our emergency department ensuring 7-day per week specialty-level medicine and case mentorship for our emergency doctors. Working as an extension of our emergency service allows our Criticalists to complete thorough case workups and manage acute cases through doctor-doctor ER to CC case transfer as well as through direct referral from regional hospitals. Our Criticalists do not primarily “see the door” as we have a full team of experienced ER doctors 24/7.
NRVS is a privately owned, VECCS Level 1 trauma center and has a full in-house IDEXX lab, 16-slice helical CT, 1.5 tesla MRI, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology suite, multiple GE ultrasounds, in house blood bank and component therapy, arthroscopy, laparoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, full service sports medicine and rehabilitation department, and a dedicated ICU including long-term mechanical ventilation and high flow oxygen.
We offer a competitive base salary with 25% production and no negative accrual. Three 12 hour shifts and our benefits package includes CE, organization dues/licensure, health & dental insurance, supplemental insurance, 401K, PTO and pet insurance allowance.
NRVS opened in June 2022, is located 30 minutes from historic Savannah, GA and 20 minutes from the beaches of Hilton Head Island, SC.
