Description
Full Time, offering a competitive wage and benefits package including pension,401(k), medical/dental/vision insurances, and paid time off.
Working hours are 8:00 - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Additional hours may be required during emergencies or when workload requires.
Travel may be required to attend trainings, meetings, and other cooperative functions.
The Billing Supervisor is responsible for the cooperative's billing, payments, and member inquiries. Reporting to the Business Manager, this role is the subject matter expert in the billing process, processing accurate utility invoices, maintaining customer accounts, resolving complex issues, and providing excellent member service.
Essential Duties
Ensures accurate, timely invoicing for members and may manage complex billing cycles.
Works with members to resolve billing and account related issues and provide answers to account inquiries.
Maintains accurate records of billing rates, energy consumption, meter readings, and payments.
Monitors meter reading data, manages account adjustments, and generates monthly reports related to billing and consumption.
Activates new member services and service terminations.
Prepares year end reports for annual reporting and auditing requirements.
Generates activity reports in support of Management activities.
Ensures all processes adhere to cooperative policies and state/federal regulations.
Identifies and implements improvements for efficiency in billing.
Assists with all aspects of member account requests including walk-in, phone, and email supports.
Assists with additional business office functions as necessary and in support of department staff.
Assists with in-house or off-site cooperative activities or functions as requested, including the Annual Meeting.
Participates in trainings and workshops provided by the cooperative's trade association as requested.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications
Skills and Abilities:
Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and organized.
Reliability and dependability are essential.
Must be able to work both independently and with others while maintaining an emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy of work.
Possess the ability to meet deadlines and to set daily, weekly, and monthly priorities.
Capable of completing numerous tasks and job functions with frequent interruptions.
Ability to communicate in a courteous, professional manner when working with members and employees.
Must have a strong problem-solving skillset.
Must approach all situations with the attributes of honesty, integrity, respect, and professionalism.
Must have strong computer skills, be proficient in Microsoft Excel, and possess the ability to learn new software as needed.
Must be able to perform essential functions requiring frequent, prolonged viewing and use of computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse for extended periods.
A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required; must be eligible to be and remain insured as a driver by the Cooperative's group liability policy for the automotive fleet.
Education and Experience:
Associates degree or higher in Business or Office Administration or related degree is desired.
Two or more years' job experience in customer service required.
Two or more years' experience performing customer billing is a plus.
Experience using computers required and working with accounting software systems is a plus.
Experience in utility industry is a plus.
Experience requirements may be adjusted if the appropriate education and applicable work experience are demonstrated.
