Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect admissions payments and process credit card transactions.
- Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
- Complete basic equipment maintenance and cleaning.
- Write maintenance reports.
- Concessions sales
- Monitor activity and report issues.
- Adhere to and enforce safety policies and guidelines.
- Assist in the recommendation and evaluation of improvements to the operation that will provide maximum enjoyment for all the participants.
- Updates weather hotline as needed.
- When available, cover shifts for other batting cage attendants.
- Assists with ensuring the safety of employees and participants; maintains discipline and assists with handling complaints from the public.
- Complies with District and department rules and regulations, and policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
- 16 years of age or older.
- Less than one year of practical experience in customer service, sales, equipment maintenance, or related field.
Necessary Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to perform the essential duties listed above.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, participants, and the public.
- Skilled in operation of listed tools and equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism, poise and understanding.
- Represent the District in a professional manner, exemplifying integrity and excellence always.
- Must be available to work in the evenings, weekends, and holidays, April through October.
Supervision Received
Works under the general supervision of the Recreation Supervisor.
Supervision Exercised
Will occasionally assist in providing on the job training to new employees. Supervises participants and spectators, enforces batting cage rules as applicable.
Tools and Equipment Used
Computer, web-based software, calculator, phone, cell phone, various hand tools, and cleaning supplies.
Work Schedule
This is a seasonal, part-time position working from 5-40 hours per week, April through October, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions, and is frequently required to walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hand and arms. The employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is occasionally quiet or moderately loud when in the batting cages.
