The Opportunity:
Are you ready to take your expertise in health insurance, benefits consulting or actuarial analysis to the next level? As an Associate Consultant – Employee Health Benefits, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering strategic employee health insurance benefits consulting services to our clients. This mid-level position offers the perfect blend of analytical work, client interaction, and professional growth opportunities.
You’ll work closely with senior consultants and client team leaders to design, analyze, and implement innovative employee health insurance benefit strategies. This is a highly visible role that requires strong analytical skills, professional writing ability, and a consultative mindset.
Industry Expertise:
- Strong understanding of employee health insurance benefits, including plan design and funding arrangements.
- Familiarity with health insurance industry terminology.
- Ability to interpret and analyze health benefit plan descriptions.
- Experience interacting with health insurance carrier representatives.
- Direct involvement in the analysis, design, and implementation of a broad range of health insurance benefit programs.
- Proven success in client-facing roles and contributing to project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex health insurance plan data, including claims experience, renewal projections, and financial performance.
- Prepare client-ready reports, presentations, and recommendations that drive strategic decisions.
- Serve as a technical resource and secondary consultant for select clients.
- Manage project delivery—planning, budgeting, and ensuring timely execution.
- Contribute to practice development initiatives and process improvements.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal creation and opportunity identification.
- Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of opportunity, development and community.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Experience: 4+ years in any one of the following areas: health benefits consulting, health insurance, or health actuarial analysis.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., mathematics, actuarial science).
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Ability to analyze complex health plan data, including financial performance, claims experience, and renewal projections.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and quantitative analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Communication & Collaboration
- Excellent professional writing skills, with the ability to produce client-ready reports and presentations.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to engage a diverse audience of colleagues and clients.

The current salary range for this position is $84,000 to $105,000 plus opportunity for a discretionary performance bonus based on company profitability and employee performance.
