Akman & Associates, LLC is a well-established prepaid legal services firm with offices across Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. We provide high-quality legal representation to union members and their families across a broad range of general practice matters. Our Landover office serves a diverse and active client base across Prince George's County, Anne Arundel County, and the surrounding DC metro area.
We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Landover office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated litigator who wants hands-on courtroom experience, direct client responsibility, and the stability of a firm with a well-established client base — without the pressure of business development or billable hour targets. You will manage your own caseload with the support of an experienced team.
Our attorneys handle matters across family law, criminal defense, traffic/DUI, and related general practice areas, appearing regularly in Prince George's County, Anne Arundel County, and surrounding Maryland courts.
This position offers a competitive salary, full benefits, a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends, and a collegial environment where you can develop as a well-rounded litigator. Unlike many litigation roles, there is no rainmaking required — you'll spend your time practicing law, not chasing clients.

Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active Maryland Bar license (required)
- DC Bar admission (a plus)
- 1–4 years of litigation experience with courtroom time
- Experience in family law, criminal defense, or traffic matters preferred
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Comfortable managing an independent caseload
- Must be able to work in-person at our Landover, MD office
