Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and energetic Assistant Golf Professional to serve as a key ambassador for our facility. This individual will play a vital role in enhancing the golfer experience, driving membership growth, and providing hands-on management of public play, leagues, and tournament outings.
The successful candidate will support the execution of strategic plans, assist with daily operational reporting, and ensure all services meet company standards and industry best practices. We are looking for an ambitious professional who is eager to grow, contribute to a positive team culture, and provide exceptional service. A strong background in golf promotion, tournament coordination, and a comprehensive understanding of day-to-day golf operations are essential for success in this role. This seasonal role is expected to be from April through November with flexiblity to extend.
Experience Required
Association with PGA of America with golf experience.
- PGA/LGPA Involvement: Active Associate or Member of the PGA of America (or LPGA) with a strong background in golf operations.
- Professional Background: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in golf operations
- Tech Savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable embracing new technologies, including Point of Sale (POS), tournament management software (e.g., Golf Genius), and marketing platforms.
- Team Player Mentality: A "lead by example" approach with a willingness to "pitch in" across all departments to support co-workers and ensure smooth operations.
- Service Excellence: Proven ability to provide outstanding customer service to both members and guests in a high-traffic environment.
- Communication Skills: Refined verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain a professional appearance and cordial demeanor at all times.
- Operational Detail: Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Problem Solving: Ability to exercise sound judgment and make quick, effective decisions to enhance the guest experience.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, and reaching.
- Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support peak demand times.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operational Support: Support the daily operations of the golf department, including the pro shop and outside service staff, to ensure a seamless experience for all.
- SOP Compliance: Ensure all daily activities align with management operating controls, SOPs, and service standards.
- Service Recovery: Actively engage with golfers on-site, addressing concerns immediately and following service procedures to turn challenges into positive experiences.
- Financial Reporting: Assist club leadership in monitoring daily business reports and ensuring that daily revenue and guest satisfaction targets are tracked accurately.
- Revenue Generation: Contribute to the property's profitability by executing innovative promotions, supporting dynamic pricing models, and driving pro shop sales.
- Tournament & Outing Execution: Lead the tactical execution of golf outings, leagues, and member tournaments, ensuring they meet the facility's high standards for organization and guest relations.
- Staff Mentorship: Assist in managing and developing the hourly team to ensure high performance, career progression, and a positive work culture.
- Culture of CARE: Fully embrace TKo's Culture of CARE, fostering this environment among team members and ensuring every golfer feels valued and supported.
- Sales Engagement: Actively support the sales process by assisting with new client acquisitions and providing a professional "golf-forward" perspective during site visits.
- Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a safe environment by operating the property within Occupational Health & Safety guidelines, fire regulations, and other legal requirements.
- Leadership Presence: Provide effective "boots on the ground" leadership during peak demand times, including weekends and holidays.
