Experience Required

• PGM Associate Level 1 or looking to start the PGM program
• Minimum 2 years of golf industry experience, preferably at a private club or resort.
• POS system and tournament software experience required. Preferably Jonas Club Management and Golf Genius but any experience is good.
• Strong computer skills particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Tournament, merchandising and junior golf experience is a plus.

Illini Country Club is looking for motivated candidates to fill the role of Assistant Golf Professional. The position requires strong interpersonal skills and excellent customer service. The Assistant professional will report directly to the Head Golf Professional.

• Assists with the management of daily golf operations including managing and tracking play, protecting and controlling assets, supervising golf staff, assisting with all merchandising functions, managing tournaments, and providing other professional services to ensure an exceptional golf experience.
• Complete the Requirements of PGA membership to maintain active membership status or continue to actively pursue PGA Membership in the PGM Associate program.
• Supervise and manage the total golf operations in a professional and efficient manner in the absence of the Head Golf Professional and First Assistant Professional
• Provide excellent customer services, professional advice and assistance to all patrons
• Teach lessons, clinics and junior golf in a manner that is consistent with instructional methods, policies and procedures
• Supervise, schedule and train golf shop personnel as directed by the head professional
• Assist in the purchasing, receipt, display, inventory, control, promotion and sales of merchandise
• Assist in managing the club repair business
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times
• Be informed on, and promote all club activities and services
• Manage the CDGA handicap program
• Assist in the planning and budgeting for the golf operations
• Assist in managing tournaments and outings
• Assist in managing the Men's and Ladies Leagues and programs
• Oversee rental cart fleet including personnel and maintenance

401(k) Retirement Plan

You will be eligible to participate in the Club's 401(k) retirement plan and receive matchingcontributions of up to 3.5% from the Club once you meet the eligibility criteria established by the plan documents, including one year of service and at least 1,000 work hours. Once you have met the criteria, you will be eligible to enroll on the next January 1 or July 1.
