Overview

We are seeking an Assistant Director of Golf to join our team! You will provide high-level administrative support for the Director of Golf at our company.

Experience Required

Helpful Experience (Not Required)

• 3-7 years of experience in golf operations or golf management
• Prior experience as an Assistant Golf Professional or Head Golf Professional
• Experience managing tournaments, leagues, and golf events
• Retail and POS system experience (e.g., GolfNow, ForeUp, Jonas, Club Prophet)

Operational Knowledge

• Strong understanding of Rules of Golf and handicapping systems (GHIN)
• Knowledge of pace-of-play management and course setup\

Physical & Schedule Requirements

• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand for long periods and work outdoors in varying weather
• Ability to lift and carry golf equipment (typically up to 40 lbs)

Essential Responsibilities

Golf Operations

• Assist in overseeing daily golf operations (tee sheets, pace of play, cart management)
• Ensure a high level of member/guest service on and off the course
• Enforce club policies, rules of golf, and etiquette
• Handle customer concerns and resolve issues professionally

Staff Management

• Supervise and schedule golf shop staff, starters, marshals, and outside services
• Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating staff
• Lead shifts and act as Manager on Duty when the Director is absent
• Promote a positive, professional team culture

Tournaments & Events

• Plan, organize, and execute tournaments, leagues, and special events
• Prepare pairings, scoring, rules sheets, and prize distribution
• Coordinate with food & beverage and maintenance teams for events

Member & Guest Relations

• Build strong relationships with members and repeat guests
• Promote club programs, events, and services
• Represent the club in a professional and welcoming manner
