| Job Summary | The Administrative Services Assistant Senior within the Research Administrative & Fiscal Affairs (RAFA) office supports the financial and operational management of research core facilities within the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR). This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial processing, rate development, and compliance across all service center operations. The Administrative Assistant Senior is responsible for daily business operations—including purchasing, payments, and reconciliation of cost centers—and collaborates closely with the RAFA Financial Lead to maintain fiscal integrity. The position manages the annual rate development process for research service centers, ensuring rates comply with university and federal cost principles, and provides guidance to facility staff on best practices in budgeting and cost recovery. Additionally, this position oversees the OVPR Equipment Maintenance Program, coordinating with departments and external vendors to ensure proper coverage, timely payments, and accurate financial reporting. The position also provides administrative and analytical support for the Core Facility & Scientific Advisory Committee by preparing financial reports, meeting materials, and data analyses to inform strategic decisions. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, customer-focused financial professional with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial policies and procedures. This individual will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail while ensuring sound fiscal management and operational support for the University's research infrastructure.
