Description
OverviewThe First Assistant Golf Professional supports the Head Golf Professional in delivering high-quality golf and customer service operations at Indian Peaks Golf Course. Oversees daily Pro Shop activities, supervises staff, coordinates leagues and events, manages clinics, and maintains inventory to ensure a positive experience for patrons and smooth clubhouse operations.
Experience Required
Five (5) years of experience working at a golf course required with a minimum of 5 years as a PGA Member preferred.
Essential Responsibilities
The following duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive:
- In rotation with the Head Golf Professional, oversee the Golf Shop, Food & Beverage, and Volunteer staff. Assign work responsibilities as required as well as manage the collection of revenue.
- Plan, direct, and supervise golf programs and tournaments; schedule staff, collect fees, coordinate with maintenance, distribute gift cards to winners of the tournament, post scores, officiate play, oversee IP leagues; promote the game of golf and the Indian Peaks Golf Course; supervise starting times and play on the golf course.
- Assist in the day-to-day administration of the Clubhouse. Recruit, hire, place, schedule, train, and discipline assigned staff members.
- Responsible for physical inventory process, ordering merchandise, meet with Sales Representatives; manage reservation software, web administrator for golf course website, data base manager, set work schedule for Pro Shop and Player Assistants, POS system, create tee sheets, develop sales item departments, schedule all events on electronic tee sheets, maintain customer data base, setup tee sheets to accept online reservations through the website and third party tee-time vendors, assist in managing online sales.
- Participate in development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of team decision making and management by providing information, sharing resources, participating and adapting work schedules to accomplish goals and projects. Act as the liaison among Golf Professionals, Instructors, and all other clubhouse staff members while maintaining relationships with other city divisions and departments.
- Assist in administrative duties: collect and distribute fees and monetary transactions, prepare daily cash sheets and deposits, keep records, prepare reports; perform promotional work to encourage program participation; receive and return merchandise; stock goods; organize and clean the pro shop.
- Perform the duties of all other personnel, including the Head Golf Professional in his/her absence, when circumstances warrant.
- Perform related work as required and assigned.
